The grade of salt and refinement to remove insoluble and impurities is critical to the life of a Molten Salt system.
The Nitrates used for Solar Power Plants can be supplied separately or premixed. It is recommend using the premixed nitrates, i.e. monopril 60/40% in the refined prilled grade, as per SSR/NPP-R specification.

NaNO3-KNO3 (Operating range ~220 – 600 C)
LiNO3-NaNO3-KNO3 (operating range ~120 – 560 C)
