System Designs Support
When designing a new molten salt system, it is critical that proven components are used to reduce the risk of problems during start-up of the system. Selecting the right pump is critical, as the pump is the heart of your system.
Often how to melt the salt and charge the system is over looked. Preheating the complete system is critical to a clean startup without a Freeze up of salt somewhere within the system. Understanding the heat tracing and how to zone critical items such as valves, flow meters and long runs of piping will be critical. Correct pipe sizing and line velocities will also insure clean startups.
Well written I&O manuals will be very important to the plant operator and maintenance personnel. Too many times OEMs only deal with their equipment and not the complete system. Consulting with HTSD,LLS is the best way to insure startup failures from occurring.
